Yesterday late afternoon Haakon, Marit, and I were sitting out on our front porch drawing with sidewalk chalk. It my excitement and sheer amazement... Haakon drew a real stick person!!!! I should have taken a picture of it! It was amazing. I big round circle with 2 dots for the eyes and a not quite a happy smile but a smile just the same underneath the eyes. He had two stick legs coming straight out the bottom of his round head and to very long arms with hands coming out the side of his head. Perhaps it resembled something more of a "mr. potatoe head" but I thought it was a masterpiece! It was the first time he drew something like that. I am not expecting the next Monet out of him but stick people are just as good to me!
Comments:Grandma Seeger: When Grant was about 3 years old, he loved markers. He liked big pieces of paper but stayed in the middle of the paper with very colorful swirls. One of his first pieces, he said it was "Lisa in the waterbed".Cara: Oh Rebekah! How not very long ago, Meghan's people looked exactly like that!!!! yes, this is the start of many masterpieces to come!Add a comment:

Where to begin... where to begin...
Thank you all for your sweet and thoughtful words of sympathy. They meant so much!
It was good to be able to fly home for the funeral. This time Mommy flew solo. I had forgotten completely what it was like to not have all my sweet little dears with me and when the flight attendant reminded the passengers to check their seats and pockets in front of them to make sure they had not forgotten anything, I nearly giggled out loud remembering how a week ago we were searching frantically to make sure we remembered all our things. They whole long weekend, Kelsey (who also came home solo) and I kept thinking we were missing something. It is such a strange feeling not having the responsibility of your little ones. It one sense it felt great to just relax and concentrate on the people around us and in the next it felt a little lonely and empty. It was good to come home and be showered with hugs and kisses from my little ones.
Daddy did a fabulous job holding down the fort.
Auntie Laynie is recently engaged to Eric. We are so excited for them both!! In other exciting family news, Auntie Lisa and Uncle Saul had their baby girl Aquiliana on April 16th! We can't wait to meet this new cousin!!!
Pregnancy is going so much better!!! This little one is wiggling around all the time. I don't know if he likes to wiggle more when Haakon and Marit are not around or if it is just that I notice him more when the others are tucked in bed. Probably both, he thinks, ok you have spent all your day with them, now it is time to play with me! I still can't even imagine what are days will be like after he is born. I try not to think of it too much. It may just overwhelm me. But some how, by the grace of God, it will work and be wonderful. At least that is the thought I am clinging to.
Haakon and Marit are growing up so much. It always makes me marvel at how much they knew and understand. The rare moments that show their sweet and tender thoughtful side, are the ones that get me threw the days of one disaster after another.
Tonight Haakon was a big helper. We picked up all the toys and he was fabulous with putting everything in the right spot! I couldn't have been prouder. This is a huge milestone for us.
Today Marit must have had 10 strawberries. It is so exciting for me to see her eat fruit because Haakon won't even try it. She was always running to the fridge asking for more with the red juice dribbling down her chin from the one she just previously ate.
When I look back on other events in our day I wonder if perhaps I should have waited till after lunch was served before baking chocolate chip cookies and letting them each eat 3 before feeding them lunch a half hour later. Or I wonder if my fabulous plans to make salmon fish sticks for supper that I had seen what's her name on Everyday Italian make could have gone a little easier, so that Marit was not screaming and pulling on me while my hands were full of slime as I dipped each strip in the 4 separate ingredients before placing them in the pan to bake. Perhaps I should have just nudged the container of chocolate chip cookies off the counter to the floor so she could have helped herself. Well, tomorrow is another day and perhaps I can get it right then. Daddy is home and hungry for the leftover fish sticks. At least he can wait for cookies till after supper.
Comments:Mary: Oh Rebekah - I just chuckel at your days...they sound so much like mine! I am so glad you are feeling well and enjoying that little baby dancing around in your belly. You all have been so busy with so much going on in your family. I hope the rest of your week is peaceful (if that's possible!) :)Beth: 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: I am sooo glad you are feeling better!! you are so great about updates!! Auntie Sarah and Uncle Pete are off on their honeymoon early this morning. They had such a beautiful wedding. It was a great week being in MN helping with all the wedding preperations and then seeing all our family and friends. Sunday before we left we stopped by again to see Grandpa Ray and Sylvia. When I hugged and kissed him goodbye I prayed that I would be able to do it again. But when I heard my phone ring this morning I knew already what my mom would be calling to tell me. Grandpa Ray died last night. It was like he hung on to make it through Sarah's wedding and having the chance to see everyone and let us all see him. Our hearts are broken but at least we know Grandpa is in heaven and he now can breath so much better. I hardly took a single picture this week but Sarah and Pete's wedding pictures that their fabulous photoghrapher took, could not be prettier. http://picasaweb.google.com/DanaWidmanDesigns/PeteSarahWeddingRehearsal
