Yesterday we had our ultrasound. The ultrasound technician asked us if we wanted to find out and we all said yes. Haakon piped in with, "I think it is a boy with a penis". Sure enough! That is what we are having. A sweet little boy! We are all thrilled. Everything looked wonderful on the ultrasound and he is right about 7 ounces. So tiny. We just praise the Lord!!!
Tonight we leave on our first lef of our trip up north. It is off to Dallas for a couple days. Grant is attending a conference there. We get to stay at this nice hotel downtown Dallas. I noticed online the have a special online concierge service. We could have milk and cookies waiting for us in our room when we get there tonight for just a mere 22 dolla. I mentioned it to Grant and he laughed. I think we will either bring our own cookies and milk or skip it all together.
Tomorrow the plan is to hit the American Girl Place in Dallas. I probably will enjoy it more then Haakon and Marit. But I am sure they will like it too.
Sunday we will fly to MSP. We are so anxious to meet little Scarlett and see all our family while we are home for Sarah and Pete's wedding. Hopefully we can take some warm sunny spring like weater with us. Between Kelsey and the boys we should be able to rangle a little bit more sun and a few degrees to warm it up a bit around there.
We did eventually find a suit for Haakon. And it fits. (at least the jacket does) It was the only thing he would try on at the time. Now to see if Marit and I will fit into our dresses when we get there. If not perhaps we can do what Giselle on Enchanted did, sing a little tune to get what ever critters where close by to come and help her with the sewing. (perhaps they could help us with decorating too for the wedding!)Comments:Kels: Ooo, it's so close! I get to see you guys in a couple days! Can't wait! Yes, I whole heartedly agree about bringing some of our warm weather with us! Do you think we can sneak some in our suitcases? I am NOT looking forward to winter coats and hats! Oh well, it's only for a week! Love you!The Thayers: Congratulations! Greg has always wished he had a brother - how wonderful for Haakon and what a blessing this sweet little one will be for you all! We're so happy for you.Tanya: Congrats! I am so happy for you guys and glad to hear that everyone is healthy and well! What a busy mama you're going to be, but a wonderful one! :) Have a great time at the wedding! I am sure that everything will work out perfectly and it'll be beautiful! Enjoy your timeBeth Grove: LOL! Haakon sounds like a doctor's son, using such technical terms for a brother!! How funny!!! Congratulations - I've always said that every boy needs a brother!Sarah Christiansen: CONGRATS! We are so excited for all of you. Glad to hear that he is healthy.Allison Axness: Congrats!!! We are so happy to hear everybody is healthy.Add a comment:

Yesterday I had a doctor's appointment. It went well. The baby's heart beat sounded so beautiful. It was about 154.
They drew blood on me again. My tsh levels are high. Meaning I am hypothyroid with this pregnancy. I have been taking a med to regulate this but the side effects are not always fun. This first trimester has been a tough one on everyone. I just hope and pray that with each passing week the morning sickness and extreme fatigue will dissipate and be a distant memory.
We are very excited that in a couple weeks we can go in for our big ultrasound. I can hardly stand the wait! How thrilling it will be to see how big he or she has grown and to find out if it is a little girl or boy so we can decide on a name. NAMES! What a huge responsibility it is deciding on a name for a new little person. I used to take naming my dolls so seriously, this is much more intense. Recently I read about the top ten worst names of 2007. One of our favorites for a boy was on it! I suppose that just goes to show how we rank in most eyes and ears when it comes to name selection. We certainly do not get the popular vote, but that is quite all right with me.
Marit is simply mesmerized by shoes. She absolutely adores them. She hates to be with out them and has even insisted on wearing them to bed. She loves to pick out shoes for me to wear and is always finding everyone a pair of shoes to slip on their feet. The brighter the colors, the shinier the leather, and the more sparkles and bling the better, in her eyes. On Sunday I let her break in her pink patent leather flower girl shoes with flowers embroidered on the side. They are just now starting to fit her. She was in heaven as soon as I slipped them on her feet. She was prancing all over the kitchen enjoying the way they clipped across the floor. She almost ran into the wall a few times because she could not stop looking at her feet. Last week I ordered her 2 pair of new shoes in different sizes for her to grow into. There was an extreme sale at Vincent shoes. I can't wait to see the look on her face when she opens the package to find a pair of sparkly black and sparkly purple shoes. Marit is sure not let them leave her feet. Haakon also is getting a pair of black dress shoes to go with his wedding suit. I am not sure how he will like them. He is pretty partial to bright colored shoes himself. He lives in his red tennis shoes. He just wears them with anything and everything.
Comments:Kelsey: Hey! I came across another super cute brand of shoes. They're calledAdd a comment:

Yesterday when we got home Haakon was the first one to spot a package by our front door. Haakon LOVES packages. Until Grant helped him open it, I had no idea what was inside. Out he pulled his new suit for Auntie Sarah & Pete's wedding. Beautiful suit, with tie! Grant and I looked at the black pin stripe suit hanging on the hanger and then at our 3 year old son and then back at the suit and wondered... will this fit him? Haakon excitedly asked if this was his tiger/lion suit for the wedding. He said he liked it but backed away to the far corner of the kitchen to admire it from there. Why don't we try it on we asked him. Oh no, I don't want to wear it, he replied. We finally bribed him into trying on the jacket. Once we got it on Haakon and stood back to look at him, we paused, and then burst out laughing. It was HUGE!!! A size four with measurements that seemed like they would fit him were completely off. We hung it up in the back of his closet. Maybe in another year or so it will fit him. But for now it is back to searching for a new suit for Haakon, one that will fit him in April (of this year).
Comments:Beth Grove: Hi Rebekah - all the stores are coming out with Easter suits now, I'm sure you could find something suitable (no pun intended, lol) in a department store. It might not be a tux but I'm sure you could find an awfully cute little ensemble for your small man. Check Marshall Fields, JC Penney's, etc - you could even check baptism or first communion outfits. Good luck!Kels: Uh-oh! That is a bummer, Rebekah could you alter it? Or maybe that would be too much work... love ya!Add a comment:
