Here is a bit of a recap from this week's events. So Monday we call the Dr.'s office to see if we can find out anything we don't already know about Haakon's new bug he caught. They insisted on seeing him. Unfortunately we paid our co-pay and found out nothing new. Guess Dr. Daddy really knows his stuff!
(By the way Haakon is feeling much better, his spots have almost all disappeared and his mouth sores too. Other then having the Dr. pop into the room just has Haakon is about to scale the counter to climb into the sink to turn the water on, he quickly redeemed himself with outstanding behavior. I couldn’t have been prouder of my little guy)
Our adventures started when we hopped in the Intrigue on that rainy morning. The Intrigue barely started. Seemed a bit strange but we took a chance and headed out with a list of errands and all. Once we were ready to leave the DR office our car once again barely turned over. Skipping the errands and praying we would make it home was what we did. Intrigue is still broken and is probably the alternator.
Haakon got a bit concerned when he saw Daddy moving his little car seat out of the Audi (or the cool car). But was quite relieved to see his big car seat go into the Audi. He loves nothing better to go cruising with Daddy.
We sure had a short work week. (only worked Wednesday) Not just due to Haakon being sick but because Grant had to work in Houston today and tomorrow. So Haakon and I have enjoyed lots of fun time at home.
Today we decided to venture out and walk to the pool. We live on one end of our subdivision and the pool is on the opposite end. It is about a mile and a half walk. It is totally doable but when it is 90+ outside it makes it seem a lot longer.
We started out and went 1/3 of the way there and realized Haakon had left his pool pass in his wagon. So we turned around and went back to get it. At this point I think we are both thinking whether or not it is worth it to continue or to just go back inside where it was cool. We resisted the urge and trudged onward towards the cool waters of the pool. Once we got there we had so much fun splashing around in both the baby pool and the big pool. Haakon was quite amazed watching the older kids jump off the diving boards. On a couple of occasions he tried to run over there himself thinking he would give it try. Uff da you got to be so quick with these little ones. There were a couple teenage girls talking to a boy and Haakon would try and run over and just stand there and stare at these girls. It is not possible that he is girl crazy already is it???
IT sure was nice of Daddy to pick us up on his way home from work. Haakon ate a big supper tonight and went to sleep early. Perhaps we will have to go to the pool tomorrow too. One thing we need is a noodle for Haakon so he will quit stealing the other kid's noodles. He just is too sweet and thinks everyone will want to share with him.
Latest Trick: Unbuckling himself from the highchairs at restaurants.

Haakon is sick. :(
Our poor little boy has what we think is a coxsackievirus which has given him Hand, Foot, & Mouth Disease.
We just hope and pray he is over it soon. The jury is still out on whether or not we will be taking the week off of work to stay home with him. More then likely we will be taking the week off.
Please pray he is better before we come up north!
He has been a good sport. What a sweet boy he is!Comments:Add a comment:

Last night we saw the critically acclaimed movie Cars. Grant had received this free movie pass to see the Lake House. It said they overbook to ensure a full house and to arrive early to get a seat. It also said that bringing small children was not encouraged, but it didn't say they were not allowed. So, we brought Haakon with us!
Well, arriving a half hour early was not early enough and we soon discovered that we would not be getting in. It turned out to be a good thing though. We slipped into the movie Cars instead. Haakon loved it! So did we. Such a cute movie. Haakon is not big into watching TV so his attention span was short lived. He had to take car watching breaks to explore his surroundings. Thankfully the place was nearly empty and the few people that were there were also families with young children who were probably seeing there first movie too. I think my favorite part of the movie was when Haakon was sitting in his own seat with his sippy cup in the cup holder that he had discovered and munching on his snack and giggling at the cars during a funny scene. It was just too cute to watch. He fell sound asleep towards the end. Afterwards a happy but exhausted Mom and Dad both agreed that this was his first and probably last movie he will see for several years till he learns to sit still and obey.

It is sometimes really hard for Haakon to be good all the time. Lately he can really show us his naughty side and temper when things don't go just his way. We are trying the naughty chair and hopefully that with stearn voices will help to show him that bad behaviour is not acceptable.
Baby sister Pumpkin is doing well and kicking all the time. She especially likes to kick when she hears Haakon talking. Yesterday he was saying baby and hugged my tummy. I hope he will always feel that way about his sister.Comments:Add a comment:

A sweet little girl on the way is our latest news of the day!
I shall have to post the lovely ultrasound pictures soon so you can see what a cutie she is!
Haakon was quite intruiged by the ultrasound and seeing the baby move on the monitor. He could tell something special was happening, but I don't think he was convinced it was a good thing. I am sure in no time he will love his baby sister. And perhaps we will get her a helmet just in case he forgets his own strength.Comments:Add a comment:
