Marit is one month old today. I can't believe it one bit! She is growing up way to fast already.
Yesterday we had a call from Growing Family (they take the pictures in the hospital) Anyhoo they said that they wanted to set up the appointment for her one month shot that I purchased with my package at the hospital. I said I had not purchased a package but just one picture sheet. Oh well, they still came out. How nice, I did not have to leave the house. (or so I thought) Turns out, both of my precious children where at their crabbiest point of the whole day. Haakon did not even make the picture and I will be quite surprised if we even got one good one of Marit who is usually my calm happy baby.
Daddy and I will have to play with photography and try taking pictures of the kids tomorrow night. Tonight is Hockey night. Hopefully Daddy comes back injury free.
Poor Haakon has a new cold. When will the viruses stop?!?!?!?!!!! Just when I thought Happy Haakon was back... Haakon the Horrible returned.
He does have his happy moments though. He likes dancing with me to the theme song of Mickey Mouse Playhouse. Of course I have to sing it!
Well it sure was fun having all the wonderful company through November. Haakon asks about everyone every day. It was lovely having Grandpa & Grandma Seeger and Uncle Drew, Aunt Laynie, Uncle Saul, Aunt Lisa, and Uncle Dave and Aunt Claire over Thanksgiving. It made it so special.
Hope everyone can come again soon.
Earlier this week it was in the 80s. It is currently in the 30s. It is actually now cold enough that putting up the tree makes sense! This weekend we can invision it snowing outside and we will make hot chocolate and decorate the Christmas tree. That reminds me... I need to sew Marit a Christmas stocking...Comments:Add a comment:

November is flying by!
We just said goodbye to my sisters today. Haakon sure enjoyed having his Aunties here and wrapping them around his little finger. Marit did the same but without even trying. :)
We miss them already! It was the first time they had been to Texas. We ventured out a little bit. Visiting Galveston and taking them to the beach, and a walk on the Strand. We also were able to bring them to Kemah which is where we went with Mom (Boompa Nana as Haakon calls my Mom) when she was here.
Haakon has had a language explosion. He is repeating so much and saying so much. It is just fun to hear what he will say next. He still has to work on pronunciation but otherwise he just seems more like a big boy then our baby.
We are greatly anticipating Thanksgiving and the arrival of the Seeger family. Marit can't wait to meet her Grandpa and Grandma Seeger and her aunties and uncles. How special that will be to have everyone here at once. Haakon will eat up all the attention I am sure!!!
Haakon has started to be a happier boy. With the disappearance of his cold and runny nose, so went the crabby pants boy and along came back our happy Haakon. YEAH! I was starting to worry he would not come back and we would drain the Puff Plus resources around the world.
I am really starting to feel like a down and dirty Mom with two children. With just Haakon it was almost a novelty for me, having a baby was like having the latest accessory. But now with 2, I feel like a juggler. It is a balancing act now. But it is wonderful. So much fun. When we had Haakon I could not imagine loving anyone so much and then having Marit it was like my heart doubled in size. It is indescribable! I love being a Mom, and I am so thankful to have such an amazing husband who is such a fabulous Daddy!

Today is the first day that I am home alone with my two precious children. Grandmomma went home on Saturday and Daddy went back to work today. So far... not too bad. We started the day at 6:15 and Haakon is finally down for a nap. Marit is sleeping too so I think I should take a nap as well.
Haakon loves his baby sister but it has been a tough time for him. And for us! He is extremely whiney and fussy. His next melt down is always just around the corner. We know this has a lot to do with all the changes with a new baby and being sick with a cold going on 3 weeks and letting his new sister have the booboos instead of him. Oh, and perhaps it is just the start of the "terrible twos". We just hope and pray we can be consistent and good with disciplining him. He is VERY determined and strong willed. Just need to channel it for good. Haakon has his good moments too. He is enjoying reading books more and trying to repeat everything he hears. His pronunciation needs work but that will come in good time. He is also very helpful with little tasks "menial tasks" as Grant would call them. I so appreciate Haakon's willingness to help.
Marit is getting stronger every day. She loves to lift her head and is getting better control. She also insists on sleeping on her side. We lay her flat on her back and when we look a little bit later she has rolled unto her side.
We love every minute of it!

Has it really been a whole week since our sweet little Marit was born? We could not have asked for a sweeter baby. Marit loves to sleep! We practically have to wake her to feed her.
We came home from the hospital Tuesday night. We just could not stay one more night. We were anxious to be home and sleep in our own beds.
Haakon LOVES his baby sister. He is always wanting to kiss her and hug her and wants to hold her. He has been very good about letting her nurse as well. He wants me to feed her if she makes a peep. Haakon is still a little rough. Hard for him to know what "gentle" is. But we are all so thankful he is adjusting well.
Having Mom here has been great. She has been such a huge blessing! And we are excited for more family to come visit later on this month.
Haakon has named Grandma Vickie, Boompa. We have been working on Grandmomma but he decided Boompa was better. So then Mom introduced Nana so now it is Boompa Nana. Too cute!
Thank you to everyone who has left us such sweet messages. It blessed our hearts. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers!
