We are overjoyed that Marit is here and safe and sound! What a blessing and gift from the Lord.
We have spent all evening and morning just marveling over it all. We could not be happier!
She is so sweet and calm and a good little nurser already. Very alert and looking around as well. Can't wait for her to meet you all.
She was born not long after I posted the message earlier. She wanted to come a bit earlier then 6:39 but we had to hold out and wait for Dr. Wilson to arrive. And once she did it did not take long for her to be snuggling up in our arms and kissing her cheeks. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers! It means so much to us!Comments:Add a comment:

We are so excited and cannot wait to see this sweet baby girl. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers!

Yesterday we had another doctor's visit. This is the first time Haakon did not join me on the visit. Ryan and his Grandma Barb invited Haakon to come and play while I went to the doctor. I am sure he enjoyed that much more then being bored to death in the doctor's office. There is just so much waiting a toddler can handle.
This appointment was eventful unlike our previous ones. Dr. Wilson has decided it would be best if we induced on Monday the 30th. Preeclampsia seems to be setting in. How exciting to know that she will be here next week. We are very anxious and busy getting ready for her arrival. I never imagined having her early. I don't mind though. I am kind of hesitant on the idea of the possibility of her having a birthday on the 31st if she delays and is not born on the 30th. I don't want her birthdays to be over shadowed by Halloween. All will be well though and either way we are so excited to welcome our new bundle of joy to our home very soon. We will keep you all posted on updates and promise to get pictures posted as soon as possible.Comments:Add a comment:

Thursday was Daddy's birthday and we took him out to eat at a restaurant he wanted to check out. We asked if they had a birthday special. The waiter said they could come and sing. We thought it might humor Haakon, so we agreed to have them sing. Well, not only did they sing but they put a sombrero hat on Grant, gave him desert and smeared whipped cream in his face - took a Polaroid of it and had him sign it. They are apparently making a wall of birthday pictures. Uff da! Haakon enjoyed it!
Friday we had a get together with friends to help us eat birthday cake. The birthday cake was an adventure. Not sure if I will make that one again but if I do, I will know not to put it under the broiler to brown the meringue.
Yesterday we went to the doctor. Marit seems to be doing well. Starting to thin out a bit so that is a good sign too. YEAH!
We have had tons of rain!!!!!!!! Haakon has missed playing outside because of all the rain.
Sunday afternoon we went on a hospital tour and sibling class for Haakon. Haakon did not get a whole lot out of it but the older kids that were there enjoyed it very much. It was nice to see the L&D rooms and Post rooms too. We got all pre-registered and everything. Haakon had a bit of a melt down when Daddy would not let him hold the cup of coffee. I think the whole floor heard him screaming. I was a bit worried he scared a new dad to be. He also entertained a big-brother-to-be. I don't know if this big-brother-to-be seemed too excited about an addition to his family. He thought Haakon was a bit annoying but his Grandparents kept telling him that this is what it will be like to have a little brother that looks up to you. Poor guy!
Grant has been painting up a storm lately and Haakon has been his right hand man. He has done well with staying out of the paint but not too good with staying off of the ladder. Can't believe how much he learns and changes and says each day. We just feel so honored to be his parents and witness this growth.

Monday - It was off to visit the doctor and check on the baby! All was good, praise the Lord! Her heart rate was in the 150s and she once again kicked the nurse as she was listening to the heart rate. She is a lively one!
What a good girl she is, positioned right and everything. I am just so hoping and praying I go on my own close to the due date.
Paint is going up everywhere around here. We have gotten bored waiting for the fixer upper guys to come and patch the whole in the ceiling in the kitchen and paint the ceilings. Grant painted Haakon's ceiling and then we painted the stairway walls for the fun of it and now he is painting the upstairs ceiling. Today while Haakon and I were on our way home from work he called to see if we could stop at the Home Depot and get some sheet rock tape. To my surprise he decided to patch the ceiling himself. So now we don't have a big whole anymore. Besides that, all this work he has done himself will save on out of pocket expenses. We will just have to tell the fixer upper guys they were too slow.
I feel so thankful for a husband who is just so handy and ambitious! Haakon is blessed to have such a talented Daddy to teach him all these fun things! Haakon is ready to start working.
Tools are defiantly very attractive to Haakon. He thinks they are so special and exciting and will beg and plead to hold them and try them out whenever he gets a chance. Sunday after church we stopped at Lowes to get some ceiling paint. Haakon being napped deprived was a bit cranky, and we did what any good parent would do.... Let him have whatever he wanted. (hahahaha) What he wanted was a Philips screwdriver. Figuring it was a little less dangerous then other tools we handed it over and his mood changed immediately. You should have seen the looks we got walking through the store with a toddler holding a screwdriver. It ranged anywhere from sheer horror to smiles and giggles of "oh too cute". Haakon would smile and say "Ahh Hoo" to us and others as he showed off his screwdriver. He will also say screw for screwdriver but this Ahh Hoo word was not even close to screwdriver. Then we started to notice him using Ahh Hoo for other things as well. Motorcycles, knives, tools, ladders, the scary spiders Daddy trapped in a jelly jar. They were all Ahh Hoo. It finally dawned on us that Ahh Hoo is Haakon's word for Dangerous. And the sad thing is, he loves all things Ahh Hoo! Yikes!
We covet your prayers for his safety.
