Haakon has a brand new tooth. He now has a total of 2 teeth on the bottom. He is way behind many of his friends in the tooth department, but he is making the most of them and biting anything he has the chance to bite. (that includes Mommy)
Yesterday Haakon was walking more then crawling. The whole day it seemed Mommy and Daddy were just oohing and aahing in amazement at his little legs as they tottled across the floor.
Haakon sure seems proud of his new skill.
I finally unpacked my dolls (to Grant's dismay). Haakon is quite taken with Hugums. A Madam Alexander doll that I have had since I was probably about Haakon's age. She has lots of dark hair that now sticks straight up and a soft body. But what he loves most about her is that her eyes open and close. He just loves talking to her and feeling her eyes. It is just too cute.
Here are some more of his favorites:
-wagon rides
-cupboards
-trying new foods
-riding in the car with his seat facing forward.
-cuddling with mom and dad

Mommy & Daddy's night out to the Gala was lovely! The gala was so fancy and the food was fabulous, especially the dessert. We had a great time!
Haakon on the other hand was not too thrilled with us going out without him. Tara and Sue did such an amazing job trying to entertain him and comfort him but it sounds like he was quite upset.
Tomorrow evening is another benefit dinner (not quite as fancy) I have yet to ask the Tara, Sue or Jena if they would like to watch Haakon for a couple hours. Perhaps it is good for Haakon to have a break from us.
Last night Grant spent the evening creating a gate to place at the bottom of the stairs to keep Haakon from climbing the stairs all the time. It is too scary to see him climbing up the stairs. He is so quick too. It is just the niftiest gate that he made from wood and such he found in the garage. It is outfitted with goalie sticks as well which makes it extra special. So far it is working great! Today will be a great day!Comments:Add a comment:

We sure had a fun birthday party for Daddy. We posted a few pictures. He loved his birthday cake so that was good.
Tomorrow night Mommy and Daddy are stepping out for the first time without Haakon. Tara is coming over to watch and play with him for the evening while we go to a black tie "Gala" for the hospital that Grant works at. Very exciting and monumental. We sure hope and pray Haakon will be good and sweet for Tara. It will be fun to get all dressed up.Comments:Add a comment:

Today is Daddy's birthday! Yesterday we made his birthday present and colored his card and today we are baking a birthday cake.
We plan to dress up and surprise him with a special little birthday party. It will be just the 3 of us but is sure to be fun.

Yesterday Haakon took 7 steps in a row! That was the biggest excitement we had all week! Uff da he is going to be taking more each day and before long I will really be in good shape from running after him! :)
Daddy is now working in Houston and does not get home till quite late so Haakon has decided to change his bedtime back to more like 10:30 so he does not miss out on Daddy and Son play time.
We sure hope he will start sleeping through the night soon. I don't know what happened. It was working great but he likes to sleep with us and hog the bed. If I was smaller I think I would sleep in his crib.
Well Haakon is up from his nap and ready to play some more with the clean laundry! Love to all!Comments:Add a comment:
