Daddy came home late Friday night. The kids were all tucked in tight and he decided not to wake them. Better to be greeted by happy children then crabby ones.
When morning came and Haakon came bounding into our room he asked if Daddy was home yet. Daddy's head popped up from the other side to say good morning to Haakon. I don't think Haakon's smile could have gotten any bigger. He crawled over me and baby as fast as he could to get to daddy and cuddle. After wrestling and cuddling awhile we could hear "Princess" Marit calling from her bed chambers that she was awake and ready to get out of the crib. Daddy and Haakon ran in there to say good morning. According to Daddy she was so surprised to see him. She just stared and then told him she heard a puppy dog barking outside. After it all sunk in that Daddy really was finally home, she could not stop hugging him and touching his face as almost to make sure he really was real! By 8:15 that morning we had all had breakfast of ebelskiver pancakes and were ready to take on that much anticipated Saturday. First things first, get the fridge and kitchen table back in the kitchen. I never did get the grout sealed while he was gone. But Grant was on it and now the house seems much more back to normal. Although, I still can't help but walk to the part of the living room to put or take something from the fridge, only to realize it is back in its place.
Just like Daddy is now home and everything seems back in its place. (Oh except for the toys, unless scattered all over the floor is their place)
Comments:Grandma Barb: We had a wonderful 4th at Lake Ida with Mike and Kathy Moe. Our group included Grandma Betty, Lenore, and Grandpa Dick. They enjoyed the lake and all the good food. Part of the day we worked on wedding flowers. It just went too fast with all the Moe sisters chatting, the jet ski rides, pontooning, and just vegging on the beach with lovely Minnesota weather. Hope you had a nice day to celebrate our freedom. Love to all, BARBLauralee Tupa: YAY!! Your family is back together :) I hope you get some BIG naps in!! Have a GREAT 4th love you guys!Nikki (Krueger) Massmann: Oh I love this how you refer to Marit calling from her bed chambers! Hysterical, but yes so true with those little girly girls, isn't it!?Mary: I am so happy for you all that Daddy is back home in his rightful place (much like your fridge) :) How wonderful!Add a comment:
